I ♥ my country.

Chile is a country in South America that occupying a long, narrow coastal strip between the Andes mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. It borders Peru to the north, Bolivia to the northeast, Argentina to the east, and the Drake Passage in the far south. The Chilean territory includes the Pacific islands of Juan Fernández, Salas y Gómez and Easter Island. Chile also claims about 1,250,000square kilometres of Antarctica, although all claims are suspended under the Antarctic Treaty.

Prior to arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century, northern Chile was under Inca rule while the indigenous Mapuche inhabited central and southern Chile. Chile declared its independence from Spain on February 12, 1818. In the War of the Pacific (1879–83), Chile defeated Peru and Bolivia and won its current northern territory.

After this little introduction, in these 200 years of life for my country, I will talk about the different points that are important for the development of a country.

With regard to our origins, as we know, we are a mixed race. The Spanish who conquered our country mixed with the indigenous (primarily Mapuche), who lived south of our country. Therefore, the majority of Chileans are of Mapuche descent, but what the Mapuche culture is valued properly? Doubt.
According to the 2002 census, only indigenous people that still practiced a native culture or spoke a native language were surveyed, and 4.6% of the population (692,192 people) fit that description. Of that 4.6%, 87.3% declared themselves Mapuche. Most of the indigenous population show varying degrees of mixed ancestry.
Chile is one of the twenty countries to have signed and ratified the only binding international law concerning indigenous peoples, Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention, 1989.

Political issues: Chile is a country with political poles clearly marked by different events that occurred during these 200 years. Today, I think auneuqe 200 years have passed, even in the country are reflected past hurts that affect major political differences that divide us today.

But despite all the social issues that divide the country, I think we proved to be a strong country capable of supporting all the evidence that God wants to send, for example, earthquakes, the collapse of the miners, etc. Although I would like Chileans valued more our culture, which is precious, for homeland fiestars more cueca dance, it will take more "chicha", more traditional games will be played and will highlight our customs for other countries around us know our culture. For this and many other things, I love my country.

Reggae Music=***

Reggae is a music genre first developed in Jamaica in the late 1960s. While sometimes used in a broader sense to refer to most types of Jamaican music, the term reggae more properly denotes a particular music style that originated following on the development of ska and rocksteady.

Reggae music is very different from other musical styles in that the emphasis is placed on the off-beat, usually by a rhythm guitar, piano or synthesizer. When people dance to disco or pop music, they move in time with the bass or bass drum beat, but dancing to reggae music involves moving in time with the off-beat.
The tempo is usually quite slow and relaxed. The lyrics of reggae songs are usually influenced by politics, social situations and the Rastafarian way of life.
The lyrics of typical 'roots' reggae songs involve much reference to the Rastafarian religion. For example, 'Jah' (God) refers to the embodiment of the faith, the emperor of Ethiopia at the time the religion was founded (1930), Haile Selassie. Rastafarianism is based on parts of the Bible, but more so on what is called the 'Holy Piby' or 'black man's bible', as well as the Kebra Negast of Ethiopia.

Reggae is known for its tradition of social criticism in its lyrics, although many reggae songs discuss lighter, more personal subjects, such as love and socializing. Some reggae lyrics attempt to raise the political consciousness of the audience, such as by criticizing materialism, or by informing the listener about controversial subjects. Many reggae songs promote the use of cannabis (also known as herb), considered a sacrament in the Rastafari movement. There are many artists who utilize religious themes in their music — whether it be discussing a specific religious topic, or simply giving praise to God (Jah). Other common socio-political topics in reggae songs include black nationalism, anti-racism, anti-colonialism, anti-capitalism and criticism of political systems and "Babylon".

Some Artists that made Reggae Music popular:
• Bob Marley, The biggest Reggae star ever!, "Roots, Rock, Reggae"
• Jimmy Cliff, "The Harder They Come"
• Toots and the Maytals, Recorded first Reggae song, "Do The Reggay"
• Johnny Nash, "I Can see Clearly Now", "Stir It Up"
• Ziggy Marley, Son of Bob Marley, "Tomorrow People"

How important is the brain?

The brain is the most complex organ in the human body, and perhaps the most important.
The brain is the center of the nervous system in all vertebrate and invertebrate animals. Some primitive animals such as jellyfish and starfish have a decentralized nervous system without a brain, while sponges lack any nervous system at all.
A difference of invertebrate, in vertebrates, brain is located in the head, protected by the skull and close to the sensory apparatus of vision, hearing, balance, taste, and smell.

The brain performs an incredible number of functions:
•Controls body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and breathing.
•It accepts all information about the world around, from various senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching, etc).
•Handles physical motion when walking, talking, standing or sitting.
•It lets you think, dream, reason and experience emotions.

The brain has different parts that work together. They are:
1. cerebrum
2. cerebellum
3. brain stem
4. pituitary gland
5. hypothalamus

The brain can be extremely complex. The cerebral cortex of the human brain contains roughly 15–33 billion of neurons, perhaps more, depending on gender and age, linked with up to 10,000 synaptic connections each. Each cubic millimeter of cerebral cortex contains roughly one billion synapses. These neurons communicate with one another by means of long fibers called axons, which carry signal pulses called action potentials to distant parts of the brain or body and target them to specific recipient cells.

For the great importance of this organ in the human body is essential, after learning how it works so I can know that stimulate their development and prevent any problems in it.

In my career, education that will be given to the mother of your baby's development is extremely important, is essential for fostering a positive development that will benefit the life of the new being the whole cycle.

Stress!

The stress is defined as an internal experience that creates a psychological imbalance in the individual and is the result of internal environmental factors, the organization where you work or the people around you "

Today life is constantly subjected to pressure us, that most of the time without realizing we cause varying degrees of stress, which usually manifests as a result of the frustrations caused by unmet needs or also in response to happy things, sad , physical etc. For our body, the stress has a very broad meaning, is synonymous with change, therefore, anything that causes a change in life no matter if it's good or bad, real or imagined, can cause stress.
Independent of its presentation, the stress is a widespread problem that is more evident in people with intense lifestyle and that in most cases are not aware of the problem.

The symptoms that stress are divided into two types:
1. Subjective: anxiety, depression, aggression, sleep disturbances. etc.
2. Objectives: diseases directly related to body system.

Stress often manifests itself in three stages: the first is an alarm that is expressed by muscle tension. The second strength is manifested by anxiety, tension, fatigue and finally if tension persists, comes the stage of exhaustion, where the body begins to bodily symptoms as high blood pressure, ulcers, headaches and various tables that involve the entire body . They are also very important psychopathological imbalances, such as fears, phobias, depression, personality disorders, substance abuse, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, sleep disturbances, etc.
To combat stress, the person should spend time alone to organize their activities, to pay attention to your heart, to keep in touch with nature. Other tips: if you have any concerns, talk to someone you trust, exercise regularly, say no! when asked to do something you really do not want to do.

Alternative medicine is an alternative that will make your energy and emotional imbalance back to a state of relative equilibrium. There are specific remedies to bring each of the emotional imbalances that stress occurs, reverting to improve the quality of life.

Are you for or against abortion?

The contraceptive system in our country is a very free and with many possibilities. The professional midwife in recent years has taken a fundamental role in this topic, because it's a professional with great socially committed. therefore, promote the use of contraceptives is one of their tasks, in order to prevent unwanted pregnancies.

With respect to the previous point I think this is one of the key measures of prevention in adolescents and all the sexually active population does not want to have a child, therefore, as future professional midwife I will focus my efforts on educating the population in the Use of contraceptive methods,

Are you for or against abortion?
According to my view of life, I am totally against abortion. For whatever reason, since, through the knowledge acquired at university and the conception I have of the formation of life, any human being, either 1 hour, 1 month, 1 year or 60 years, has the right to life!

In regard to the consequences of making any type of abortion, I think they are too harmful and painful for the person who has done either, only the mother (in many cases she has an abortion without the consent of his partner and without has been aware of the existence of the child), or both progenitors, because it causes psychological damage that will have to face all his life.

A new being that has been created in the womb, is a blessing from God, therefore, believe that anything that goes against destruction is an inhumane act.

Emergency contraception... Good or bad?

The topic of emergency contraception is something that engages me deeply as a future midwife.

Emergency contraception is birth control pills that are taken in special doses within the first 5 days or 120 hours after unprotected intercourse to prevent pregnancy and/or abortion. It is also used in the event that the contraceptive method has failed or is used improperly, or finally, in case more tragic as is rape.

Doctor Valenzuela thinks that these data show definite postovulatory effects of LNG EC with a probability distribution of pregnancies issued from daily intercourses within the fertile period of the menstrual cycle.

Doctor Croxato thinks that doctor Valenzuela's hypothesis is wrong because have not built mechanism of action studies. In science today, the only valid method for testing a hypothesis or answering a defined question based on scientific evidence requires an appropriate specific experimental design.

In 2006, the Ministry of Health of our country established , among other decisions, the distribution of emergency contraception to persons over 14 years in the public health system, without permission from their parents. For this reason it has been a subject of great debate, because there are those who are against this measure because they say this would violate the primary right of parents to educate their children.

From my point of view, if the parents have educated their children on sexuality and fertility based on their values, could avoid circumstances in which they have to go to the use of EC, for example, providing information on contraceptive methods

As a future health professional, I believe that the most important is to educate the population about emergency contraception, providing information that their use depends on the time of the menstrual cycle to take effect that will have, and explain that there is no scientific evidence that this is act after fertilization. Therefore, it is not abortive, and is not effective if you have already initiated a pregnancy. And lastly, encourage its use as this may prevent many unwanted pregnancies and / or abortions.

See the world from a spiritual plane*...

See the world from a spiritual plane ... a beautiful road that governs my life. It is beyond the material which governs the world today, beyond the physical that today fills television, radio, newspaper and all media. Beyond human relations ... is a connection there is the greatest thing in my life, my God.

It's being able to put all the trust that exists in you, in your hands. Let the drive your life, according to his will. Govern your act on his word, what he wants us to do. Make every decision based on what your heart dictates, nothing more.

It is to live to the best of each, in every small detail. It is knowing, and completely convinced that a small gesture can change the world. Is to help as you can with what you can.

You feel love, happiness, kindness, sincerity, honesty, strength, power, freedom, harmony within yourself. It is fighting for your ideals.

And never forget… To have true success in life is: laugh a lot and many times win the respect of intelligent people, enjoy the affection of children; gain recognition of skilled, and to be able to bear the betrayal of false friends, to appreciate beauty; find the best others, to leave the world a little better than you found it - a happier person, knows that at least someone has been better because of you.

A lifestyle hard to explain but easy to feel. A beautiful way of looking at life that I never want to leave.

A book that I loved.

For this blog that is about a book I must first say that I do not like much reading. Most of the books I've read have been by the school, not because I have chosen to read in my spare time. There are two books that I loved to read in my time at school. These are: "Cuentos con Alma" Volume one and two of Rosario Gomez and "Cien años de soledad" by Gabriel García Márquez. For this blog I will talk about "Stories with soul."

In my point of view, in relation to the question: Why you liked it so much? The main reason I called my attention were the stories that this book recounted. It is a book that brings many short stories that tell stories that leave very nice lessons and make you think much about the way of being of the people, values, feelings and attitudes that sometimes we have and mechanically without thinking about anything around us. We only see our own lives. They are stories that make you put aside the daily grind and connect more with your interior.

This book I read in 2004 when I was studying in eighth grade school. I read it because in the course of language gave us a book which was then evaluated monthly so it was a book recommended by the professor of that course.

And finally in relation to the question: What aspects have you found interesting? As I said earlier is a book that you can not stop reading. This book is so real stories that come straight to the heart, changing the materialist vision for a more sensitive and interior.

Last Blog*

Hi ... today is the last day that I will comment on my blog as the semester ends.

In relation to my previous blogs, the teacher check my publications and I corrected some mistakes. For example, in relation to the verb to be, to some nouns and verb tenses.
For example:
- Is a very important service
- It lets me know
- These sites are
- To Be Informed

Through blogging I have learned new vocabulary in daily use. I have learned to connect ideas, new verbs and sentences to express continuity.
Examples of words I've learned:
- However
- In Relation
- Between
- You should

The topics developed were very interesting blog for me and I think also for my companions because they are related to our future as a health professional and along with this is to understand the thinking of our future co-workers to know your future projects.

The blogs according to my point of view was not as complex as they were easy to develop titles and the teacher gave us a guideline to the topics should be developed.

Finally, the blogs of my colleagues were very interesting for me because it allowed me to understand the different viewpoints of each and their interests in the future.

My ideal job... ♥

Everyone once in their life as children thought about what they would like to work when they were adult people.

I was not the exception, of course. Since I was a child I am very interested to work with people and especially to help. For this reason I chose a career in health like this.

My ideal job always imagined in rural location, away from the city, for example the south of Chile, because in this place the people can not reach health centers and therefore I want became the professional to visit each patient.

The kind of people that I want to work in the future are poor women and adolescent who had no access to health, for I want integrate them, solve their problems and improve their lives.

I want to work independently because I want to travel around the country helping everyone who needs it.

In relation to the specialty that I would like to achieve, in this moment is neonatology, because I love babies.

In think that in my hands will be a great responsibility to help pregnant women to take a good gestation to promote development of the baby and the mother's welfare.

In my ideal job finally I want that the schedule is very flexible because, as I want to work independently, my work will depend on the needs of people in each location.

A great blessing in my life ♥

It was in the first days of March of 2009 when I met someone who would change my life. My new companion mate ...

When we begin to know, our personalities had many things in common, we liked the same music and also shared one of the most important things in our lives, the great love of God. Strange, but I felt a love and trust so great to her in such a short time became a major support for me within the University.

Over the years we shared many moments together, had a great time, went shopping, we went to reggae music gigs and studied together.

It was well as the time passed until September, when he told me that she wanted to change to medicine. First I felt too sad because She give it up the University, but my sorrow increased when she said me that if she was not in medicine here in Santiago (again would render the PSU), she would leave the town. But, inside my heart felt too happiness because she was going to be fine and would study what they really wanted. And so it was like his dream came true in June 2010 and now she is studying what she always wanted at the University of Antofagasta.

Our friendship despite the distance grows every day more, we talk every week, and we always care for each other. She is like a sister to me, a travel companion, dreams and life.

I love you my bestfriend and I've missed you too!!!
You are a great blessing in my life ♥

Education is a way of prevention and prevention is health ♥...

In my opinion it is essential before starting to develop a topic to define the concepts that will be used in this blog.

Education is a multidirectional process whereby knowledge is passed on, values, customs and ways of acting. Education not only occurs through the word: it is present in all our actions, feelings and attitudes. Prevention is to avoid a problem or damage before its onset.

For all health professional the education and prevention are considered as a fundamental tool to promote the health of people.

But, How we can educate people? Well, the health professionals everyday will be in contact with different people that require our attention for this is necessary to adapt education to each characteristics of group.

After having identified the group that will receive an educative intervention is possible to decide how to educate. For example, through educational lectures and preventive at hospitales, emergency center, in educational workshops in schools, in companies or in any place of the comunity, etc.

There are many health topics that can be used for education and prevention in the community. Today the most needed by the community are obesity, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and sex education, among others.

The kind of people that need education and prevention depends on every country, society and culture because each will have different needs.

However, in my point of view there is a particular subject that I would like to teach that is related to my profession, this is teenage pregnancy. I think that this is an issue that today is fashionable in our society.I believe it's important to work with adolescents by educating and informing the diferent contraceptive methods that exist and are affordable for they in conection with to inform that being a mother is a big responsibility requiring psychological maturity, a great delivery and most importantly ... much love for the newborn.

Education is a way of prevention
and prevention is health♥...

What is the most important gender in health?

In the health area there are careers in which men predominate as medical technology and physiotherapy. There are other careers that are divided between men and women as medicine and also there are careers that have a predominance of women for example nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy and of course our career, midwifery.

In relation with the responsibilities, once men and women at the time of become professionals have the same responsibilities, but it is important to know that a higher proportion of women in the area of health than men. The consequence of this is that women have more social responsibility because they work higher percentage the population.

With respect to salary, in my opinion should be similar between men and women, since they are equally qualified, academically formed in the same years and women and men have the same role in the area, and there aren’t reason to have differences between salary of men and women.

In Relation with the kind of patients, my point of wiew is that in every careers with the exception of midwefery the type of patients is similar between professional men and women there are not gender discrimination between the patient.

But most important aspect is known that occurs in our career. Midwifery is a career with higher percentage of women, and the public that we serve are single women, so that we studied all the processes in their life and we are in intimately connected with them. This can be a problem for some male students of our career because there are women who feel intimidated, uncomfortable and ashamed by a man. In other case, there are women gives them more confidence that a professional man because it gives them more confidence, and finally there are patients that are not important if they are assisted by man or a woman because they find it equally professional and responsible.

My future as a midwife!

When I decided this career for my future I didn't know clarity in relation with the different specialities of this area.

However, always I would imagine my future working far from the city, somewhere where the persons did not have so much access to hospitals, public health system or clinics as here in the city.

This vision has not changed and even I want to be employed in the future first in the south of Chile in many localities removed from the urbanization and after to be employed in different countries of the world with major problems of birthrate and fecundity, for example: Africa.

My ideal schedule in relation with my future as a midwife is to help build a better world by improving the quality of life of people and I think the best way is to intervene in the formation of a new born from the moment of fertilization.

I want to help women from a health point of view to educate them in a future pregnancy or throughout their lifetime to benefit their development and welfare as well as the new being that will be formed.

After finishing my career as a midwife I want to work in the public health system because it is where the highest percentage of population that needs lots of help and also is the focus of major health problems because in this population there are more risk factors by economic, educational, and social problems.

I love helping people*

Blog number 3!

The first year of university I had only subject of basic sciences very similar to the subjects of the college.

This was not fun for my and not motivanting for study, however, I had to make an effort and fight for obtain good results. In the second semester of first year I had contents very fun and interesting because I had to realized a practice in the hospital. I love it.

But, however, the most interesting contents for me in this year is Physiological obstetrics because it is the content very near to my career because we have class that then we complete with workshops for example, control of pregnancy, obstetric semiology, changes in the pregnancy, etc.

The easiest contents of the class are those that are in conexion with the obstetric semiology and general changes in the pregnancy because they are not complicated for me because in the last year of university we realized workshops in relation with this topic.

The most difficult contents of the class was embriology because I had forgotten this contents and it was difficult for me.

The teacher that teach this subject in the university are midwives of the school of midwefery. The teaching of this content are specialists in this and with a lot of professional experience.

About my grades or my mark it are good.

In conclusion... I love physiological obstetrics ♥
